Bhutto Released from House Arrest.

That was quick!

She had been put under an informal house arrest earlier in the day. When she tried to sneak out the back...it became a formal arrest and she was ordered to serve a 3 day detention (detentions: they're not just for high schools anymore!). But now she's free again.

Someone in the Pakistani leadership must have wised up and convinced his pals that holdinig her did not bode well for them...

    • Haven't we heard this before....Military regime locks up popular female opposition leader....Burma (cough) while Western powers stand by and beat their chests in lament.

Glad to see the world never changes!

    • she was never actually on official house arrest. they were calling it "effective" house arrest. they just had her house surrounded with hundreds of police and barbed wires. but it was never "official." ha. whatever that means...
