but the numbers don't matter... it's the fact that big companies are still using f'd up pesticides in their production. you'd think that these days someone would have figured out that chemicals are bad. we don't want them in our food, we don't want to work with them. is there really no other way to keep the bugs out? someone fill me in.
oh, and ps. i love bananas but i've just about boycotted eating them because i live so far away from banana land that the carbon footprint of my banana's journey makes me lose my appetite.

To United Fruit, or Dole as they are called now a days, and to their friends at Dow Chemical; the damages go far beyond any monitary sum. Anyone who lives near a bannana plantation in Central America gets to trade that DBCP smell, which goes into the water and into all of us, for the progress of a dilapitated soccer field with rusted goals surrounded by a chain-linked fence.
