A new yet rapidly growing international event. Dozens of environmental, urban planning and architectural organizations take over parking spots on busy urban streets all around the city and set up minature parks. They feed the meter and spend the day to discuss what they've done with local pedestrians. Their missions: To draw attention to issues for the NEED of more parks in certain areas of the city as well as environmental issues and social co-habitation issues as well.

  • this is a very interesting concept, but if you want to be more environmentally responsible, balloons have a terrible impact on the environment and are very dangerous to wildlife, both on land and in the sea.

  • The concept is valid and justified for having more parks in our cities. I just wouldn't trust that many cars and trucks passing so close while relaxing in a lawn chair - in the road of all things.

No thank you - it's an accident waiting to happen. There are obvious reasons why it's safer to stay off the road and on the curb. Even for those aware enough to stay on the sidewalks don't always luck out, as we've seen in wayward cars that veer into storefronts. Guess who's going to get hit first - our friends who have a park in the parking space.

  • Totally rad idea for our cities! The cities need some green space among the concrete jungle! Stick it
to city hall and its pollution!
