bad art...?
I am probably setting myself up to get crucified right now...but I see a lot of similarities between the paintings at the MoBA (Museum of Bad Art) and the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art). Anyone else with me?
The first time I went to Houston, about 1 year into 9 of dating my now-hubby, we went to Houston's MoMA and spent the entire time in hysterics. What a fun date!

my old roommate acquired a piece of art on the street that was acquired by the Museum of Bad Art. It's a great little gallery.

Rob, I understand what you're saying, but in defense of contemporary, conceptual art, I urge you to consider why exactly a person would choose to dump out contents of a vacuum cleaner onto the floor or why a kitchen mock-up would be made - and then called art. The artist is always trying to say something (sometimes something interesting, sometimes not) with this type of work, but there is an intention, a purpose, usually to provoke a particular thought.
With this museum, the art is happening from the way in which the curators are presenting these pieces - ironically, humorously, and parodying, while at the same time honoring, the entire tradition of art.
