While everyone is talking about the horrible atrocity that is waterboarding, and I certainly don't condone it's use on a regular basis, (it didn't look like much fun) but, think about this: Your brother in the Army goes over to the sandy place to fight the good fight. He's killed by an IED, and the guy that planted it is captured.
Now, there's the opportunity to find out what information that guy has to possibly keep your other brother who's on his way over, from suffering the same fate. Still singin' the same tune?
Guess what guys, the world is a really ugly place. Sometimes we've just got to draw a line and say that this whole new way that our gov't wants us to pretend how the world works and that it's all nice and pretty, has just got to stop.
Once in a while, you've gotta do what needs to be done, for the greater good, and quit pretending that every thing's rosy.

We don't torture, period. They are all someones brother or sister over there. We stand by the belief that it is wrong no matter what the circumstances...or we should.

ealight46, yeah but they don't respect human rights. When they do, I will be the first one to say ok, we don't need to do that anymore. According to Islamic teachings we (the west and its allies) are all doomed to hell, That is why/how they can kill us so easily. If we are going to hell, then it doesn't matter how we are treated. They get the reward from Allah for cleansing the world and our familys get to see our heads roll on TV. nice isn't it? Once Christains killed for God, but they (Islam) never have stopped!

So under what circumstances is it ok? There isn't gray area here. We believe it is ok or we don't. Who should decide when it is warranted? You can't sit on a fence about an issue like this.
