Remember that show "The Prisoners"? The costume from the 1967 hit TV series resembles a this season's Balenciaga blazer and its J. Crew acolyte. Apparently the series is such an integral part of sci-fi culture that even The Simpsons has spoofed the coat's specific cut, lapel, and white piping.
In case you are unaware, "The Prisoner" is a huge cult hit in the UK and Australia, and it's often considered the originator of Sci Fi serial dramas like Twin Peaks and Heroes.
According to Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquire , he sites his inspiration for the blazer, and the rest of his Fall collection, from a fantasy of multicultural girls meeting in dorm rooms.
Sweet.

I love The PrisonerAn mp3 of "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered!" was like the second thing I downloaded off the Internet. However, if you wear Number 6's jacket you are a HUGE nerd. There is no getting around that.

Beautiful. I only wish they would produce one for men.
