Yup, another, this one was in Las Vegas. Hillary took the heat from fellow candidates who were saying she is inconsistent - saying she'll end the war in Iraq and saying troops will have to stay in country for a long while. Hillary says she's not inconsistent.
Who besides me is sick of he said, she said and wants to hear more of what each candidate plans to do, rather than hear what each candidate thinks of the other candidates and their plans??

I'm with you, Tori. It seems like lately the really strong candidates for national leadership feel that they can do more good OFF the campaign trail and through the implementation and proactive involvement in other, more useful initiatives...hmmm, can anyone say Gore?

It's easy to get bogged down in elections and picking candidates. It's important to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. We run our country and it takes a lot more work than hiring someone to make important decisions for you. It takes staying up on the issues, being informed of current events, and making your mind known to those who represent you.
I hear a lot of my friends talk disparagingly about the shape our nation is in. They blame corrupt politicians and the majority party for ruining our democracy. I think that viewpoint neglects the root of the problem, which is that we, the citizens who are charged with the governing of our own nation, have left it on autopilot. If youre truly discontent take up the reins and get it back on track. Join and support the causes that make a difference, spend time every day campaigning on the issues in your own way, on your own blog, and here on current.com.
Let's face it it's not enough to just watch Current you should participate too.-

Well said ASCHNEIDER ! ______________________________________________________- and here is my 2 cents on the debate.I got the sense that last night debate was a bit too happy for Hillary. We should have had a woman president a long time ago. If that were so I think we would not be so distracted by gender. We really don't need to be asking presidential candidates if they like pearls or diamonds. Hillary is VERy linked to big corporations and media and they are working overtime to keep her propped up front. Good talk or bad talk about Hillary keeps her fresh in the eyes and ears of America. They now have a sound bite about pearls and diamonds they can spin when they need to fill air time with the name Hillary Clinton. Issues dont matter so much. Big corporate America has already elected her. Kucinich and Edwards are rock solid for the real issues that matter for the majority of Americans but mention a UFO sighting and you just freaked out a large portion of these people that desperately need someone to fight for them and not the corporations. Again, TV media brings it back to Bling UFO bad .Diamond good now count the votes.

ASCHNEIDER - I agree completely. One of my pet peeves is that the lies and spins from blogs and the media go unchallenged so much of the time All of us need to have our voices heard to correct every single right wing lie we see in comment sections and email or write TV stations that promote inaccurate spin. Other than Current.com we've all seen the immediate bashing of ANY Gore article that comes out repeating the same old Gore myths and that's just on one issue.

I like Edwards best. When he speaks I feel he is talking right from his heart. I admire his integrity and intelligence. I also like Dennis Kucinich. I just doubt his electability. Any one of the Democratic candidates are a thousand times better than Bush/Cheney. Hillary and Obama are way too far right for me. Don't really care for either one. The Media is pushing them both. I think because they don't believe they can win. If Hillary does she is a closet Republican anyway. The candidates ask her tough questions because the media won't YET. When cornered she will answer. I usually don't like her answer. Remember this. Her Husband gave us NAFTA, CAFTA and she won't commit to fixing or getting rid of them. Bill also finished off the fairness in broadcasting. Do you like not getting any news?

I dislike her intensely. He voice irritates me and she laughs like a donkey. If I liked her policies I could get over it but, she is a closet Republican that the media is handing the Democratic nomination to.
