It saddens me to see so many plastic bags and plastic products everywhere I go. Collecting in landfills and beaches everywhere. I just want to make people more aware of the problem we are creating.
The ecological food chain will be seriously compromised if we don't change our ways. This is my :30 ecospot entry

I thought you should have won this contest the moment I saw your ecospot. It is a shame that current made this into a popularity contest as opposed to a real contest judged by our peers. Forcing us to promote our ecospot in order to get votes was wrong. They never properly exposed this final stage of the contest to the public or current members. They could of had an ecospot button on the mainpage to encourage members to vote. I truly think you were robbed.

Yikes, yes a very powerful statement. Sure makes you think about how we live and how so many little things can make a difference.

I work for a very large plastic bag/plastic manufacturer...
Senior Management refuses to believe that they are doing anything harmful. The V.P. loves Limbaugh, and states that it is all a political shell game. One division of our company produces 340 million pounds of plastic bags per year, and he complains about paying a group of lobbyist $50k per year to fight legislation.
There are new polyethylene resin plants scheduled to go online in Saudi Arabia in 2009 which will flood the market with new resin. Plastic bags are here to stay like it or not.
We need to force those responsible for production to clean up their messes. Why should these companies go on boosting production levels, and not have to deal with the consequences? When oil companies spill oil they are fined heavily, and have to clean up the mess.
Why do we forget about these bagmen? -
Very creative! I am surprised it didn't place higher
