The use of guns is unnecessary when society is working properly.

It's a cute idea, peace love and harmony, but when guns are take away, the people who keep them or obtain them illegally have the power. And when the criminals have the power, what do the police do? And better yet, when the police become the criminals, or act on behave of them, what then do the law abiding citizens do? No, the right to bare arms is a fundamental one. Tighter gun control is one thing but for the government to eliminate the ability of it's citizens to revolt, you have a scary situation.

Um...how shall I put this...oh yeah.WRONG.Yeahlook at the UK.Look really close.Since the UK banned personal ownership of firearms, violent crime skyrocketed.Let us remember why the right to keep and bear arms was put in the Bill of Rights. It is so that we,the citizens, can protest ourselves. From wild animals. From criminals. And,if need be,form our own government. If you don't want to own a gun, fine, dont own one.If you want to live in a place where guns are illegal, fine.Go to the UK.But here,we have the right to own them.Remember, free men own guns.Subjects do not.Armed citizens are the first line of defense against a domestic, local terrorist attack and the last line of defense against an out of cotrol tyrannical government.

I disagree. I am in agreement to the other two responses. In addition to the two responses above, I would advice you to do some research on the gun control in Switzerland.
