This is a beautiful piece of photojournalism and tells a terrible but inspiring story - it demonstrates how anyone can tell a story in the digital age.

Miscarriages of justice are surely one of the most tragic byproducts of our civilization.

  • Sigh. What an incredibly tragic circumstance he finds himself in. To once again become part of society after 15 unjust years in prison and then realize the walls have never really come down must be insanely lonesome.

I really hope he is able to find his place someday.

Hearing his voice with those beautifully shot images makes this piece particularly haunting.

  • Our judicial system is broken. In court it is the prosecutor's ego against the defense attorney / defendant.

Our judicial system isn't about justice, it isn't about right and wrong, it's about winning your case. It's about promoting yourself to constituents for purely personal ambition.

You know there's something wrong with the legal system when defense attorney's say; that to have a career in this town you've got to be tough on crime. That's an odd opinion for a defense attorney to hold - ya think?

A trial must be a search for truth. If it is not, the legal system spirals out of control as each successive law must conform to a degenerating pseudo reality - the manipulation of truth. A "version of the truth" as an expensive Beverly Hills attorney said to me.

Is a "version of the truth" a truth, or is it a misrepresentation? An opportunity to mislead, fool, deceive? What happened to the "the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?" Innocent until proven guilty? These notions are long, long gone.

If a trial isn't the search for truth, those employed to defend us will victimize us - DO victimize us. How is this different than a criminal robbing us in our homes? Kidnapper holding us hostage in a jail cell? A murderer killing us?

It is true that you only have civil rights if you can afford a competent lawyer to fight for them because the law could care less.

Prosecutor's should be subjected to psychological profiling before being allowed to hold the position - assuming the criteria for such an evaluation is valid.

Our judicial system is a blind psychopath with an urge to convict for personal gain. Those of you who serve on jury's - just know you are only getting a tenth of the truth. It's extremely unlikely you will receive information which implicates a public employee for criminal conduct like perjury, falsifying reports / documents, etc.

  • i was just wondering if there is recourse for the illegal tactics used to convict this boy. if not, there should be.

  • He should receive financial compensation for wrongful imprisonment kind of like a wage, could be $100.00 a day or more, I doubt it'd be less.

Then, he could also sue for damages for punitive damages.

He may (should) come away with a small bundle of money, but you can never buy back time.
