Shark fin soup. Yummy, right? WRONG! Gen Art hosts Cinema Circle - Poolside at the W Hotel in Los Angeles, introducing us to first-time director, Rob Stewart. The film takes viewers on an unforgettable journey into the underground world of poaching, warning us of the price we might pay for the further depletion of one of the ocean's most misunderstood creatures, the shark. These events have become a great way for filmmakers to get closer to their fans, while shedding light on their creative processes. So meet Gen Art VP of film Jeffrey Abramson and filmmaker Stewart, and get the inside scoop on why YOU need to catch this important film! www.sharkwater.com - www.genart.org/film

really well edited, even though it was just event coverage it held my attention. I love shark footage and can't wait to see this film. Hope it comes to SF soon.

The fact of the matter is that man has used and abused the oceans since.... forever. Now we are discovering that all of that abuse isn't sustainable and we have destroyed rich, diverse and complex ecosystems that we never even got the chance to know about.

Each year local organizations hold river, beach, harbor and open water clean-up events. Find out how you can help from the land or SCUBAing. For a national resource and news on ocean clean-up consult the Ocean Conservancy.

To offset the effects of industrial waste and unsustainable harvesting there is no better time to lobby your local, state and national representatives and let them know that people are concerned for the ocean, which gives us all life.

Signing and emailing petitions is nice, but you also have to give time and money to aid research, restoration and change.
