Journalists Condemn BYU Player For Thanking the Lord

Another great great example of why the Utah BYU football rivalry is so intense. Journalist Mike Sorenson of the Deseret Morning News who covers the Utah team said that BYU receiver Austin Collie's post game comments were religiously intolerant. Collie had said this in regards to his 4th and 18 catch that won the game for BYU.

"I wouldn't say it was lucky. We executed the play well. We should have had another one (TD). Obviously, if you do what's right on and off the field, I think the Lord steps in and plays a part in it. Magic happens."

Wow, when will the political correctness stop. How many players have we seen thank God in their interviews, or point to the sky after a home run or touchdown. Should we condemn them all! Maybe Collie should have not acknowledged the help from above and been selfish, taking all the credit for himself. Maybe that is what is expected in the current world we live in!!!
