Access Hollywood has declared November _Body Image_ Month, but the topics covered may not be promoting a positive body image. Is Access Hollywood really helping Americans overcome their obsession weight? Does handing out tips on speedy weight lost really help young people feel better about themselves.

How does Media tackle body image issues such as weight, race, and age?

i never saw the topics from a month ago, now most seem to reveal eating disorder, and point it out as bad. but i dont see much actual 'help'.
its a scary subject, the media likes keeping to a set 'perfect' everything.-

It's true that its hard to deal with things like bulimia and anorexia--the illness is about control, and the more you push the person suffering from it, the more they turn from you and the worse it gets. It's sad when people harm themselves in the pursuit of the idealized belief that is "perfection."

I found this, and thought of this article...
It's so sad. I know how I was most of my life. What I saw in the mirror and what I truly was (a beautiful girl) conflicted only because I wasn't "perfect" in every possible way.
But looking back, I wish I had embraced and enjoyed those years more instead of being so obsessed about what was wrong (when nothing was).-
