"We are extremely concerned about this continuing pattern," Director of Health David R. Gifford said in a written statement. "While the hospital has made improvements in the operating room, they have not extended these changes to the rest of the hospital."
The most recent case happened Friday when, according to the health department, the chief resident started brain surgery on the wrong side of an 82-year-old patient's head. The patient was OK, the health department and hospital said.

I can understand somebody making the mistake once but three times? Woah...
"Er, doctor... that's the wrong side of the brain."
"Hehe! Whoops!"This link goes to a pretty cool test. Apparently whichever way the dancer spins determines if the left side of your brain is more dominant or if the right side is. She spins clockwise every time for me.

Uh.... I'd rather have the cast of Grey's Anatomy take a shot on my cranium at this rate.

Richjm, that's cool.
Mine turned counter-clockwise looking straight at it, then clockwise when reading the sidebar or looking elsewhere on the page.
That's interesting in that when I'm doing something creative, I usually like to have distractions such as sitting in a busy coffee shop while writing - as I realized occupying a part of my brain seemed to make me more creative.

shouldn't the doctor eventually notice theres no problem on that side of the head during his surgery???
