This video shows the commemoration of a treaty signed between the Six Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy and the flegling United States over 213 years ago. The treaty is still in place and it established peace and friendship between these two sovereign nations.
The visual images are compelling and the treaty for our people guarantees the free use and enjoyment of our lands.

  • There's a story here, but.....

The sound needs some work, it fluctuates too much. I had to quickly turn it down a couple of times to avoid ear damage. There is some distortion on stuff that isn't too loud also. I wish you had a close up of speakers and that I could hear them better.

Having said that, I like it and hope that you rework the sound. This is so important that I hope you embellish and resubmit.

    In anycase, Greenlight.

  • I'm pleased to see Native filmmakers making a contribution to this site, just as Native Americans have contributed so much to American culture.

  • This is a great start and I hope your team continues to provide these educational videos on the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) to viewers. This is much needed! Thank you for your efforts. Definitely want to see more from you.

  • You guys did an awesome job and should be commended for your hard work. I will be sure to share this with some of the "Nation Officials". President John was wondering if he could get a copy of this, let me know...

  • The commemoration of the treaty signed between Haudenosaunee and the US should be remembered and brought to the public attention every year. This is the "American" history that should be taught. It is a shame that the white government has chosen to dishonor the established peace and friendship between our two nations and this wonderful presentation by Mr. Jemison needs to be seen by a broader, national audience !!

  • Nation to Nation provides a valuable introduction to the fact that American Indian treaties are living documents with on-going importance in American Indian histories and United States history. This short film deserves wide circulation, both on television and in classroom settings.
  • Outstanding video Mr. Jemison. I occasionally give presentations on the topic to Scout groups and would like to use it in the future if that is ok.
In October I brought some Cub Scouts to Ganondagan, the presentation was outstanding. Thanks for all the work you have done there and elsewhere!

  • As a memeber of the Haudenosaunee People I feel very confident that there is passion to keep our Treaties alive. And Mr. Jemison, you and your staff have done an outstanding job in all that you do and represent. Keep up the great work. Are we going to see more films?

  • Excellent work. This is telling our history from our perspective which has not been done until recently. You use multi-media to educate!!!!! Keep up the good work. I'd love to have a copy of this to share as I teach a lot of people throughout each year.

  • What a great video!

Mr. Jemison, you've opened a window on very informative and educational issues about your people, the Haudenosaunee. I'd like to hear more history, music, dance and cultural information in your videos, should you choose to work on more in the future. I applaud your efforts to get, "Nation to Nation" out there for the world to see.

Rarely, do we as Native Peoples get to see true history recorded and passed on to the future generations. It's important for people from all cultures of the world to know the true struggles and fight your people (and many other tribal nations) endured to survive.
It's also important to hear from your tribal leaders, the tribal community, and traditional religious leaders. By the way, it's always an honor to listen to Chief Oren Lyons.
Thanks again for sharing the video, I have it up on my myspace page and have passed it on to my cultural resources contacts in the Southwest and in Indian Country.

  • I echo many of the sentiments and comments left; an incredibly important heritage that must be shared with a larger audience. The Native American experience is often overlooked.

As for this video, it's very good, but lacks some tighter editing which would help strengthen the point you are trying to get across.

It would be great if you could get some personal reflections, that are not made from a podium, but are also given context by those who live the heritage in today's world.

There are some parts of the video that confuse me, (the dressed up Colonial guy, for example) but maybe I'm missing something.

WOuld like to see this video developed further with some more structure that would make it great for broadcast.

    great job.

  • I am very excited to see such informative and powerful information that is vital to our existence as Haudenosaunee. As a Seneca woman and member of the Confederacy, I support your intentions for this new age movement for our people as well as your dedication to the lifelong cause of cultural survival in an ever-changing world. I am sure we will see more good work from your production company. Best of luck and happy travels! Nya:weh...
