New Zealand has been voted the Best Holiday Destination Worldwide by readers of Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper, Tourism Minister Damien O'Connor said today.

    • New Zealand maps have Lord of The Rings attractions on them SusanB, so finding them is easy. There are plenty of LOR tours as well.

      The people and the environment of New Zealand are second to none.

    • I did the South Island while studying abroad in Sydney. One of the best weeks of my life.

      NZ is relativley "new" land (just popped out of the Pacific only a mere couple million years ago) so there's no indigienous fauna. Just trees, sheep and Kiwis (mostly the people variety, not many of the actual birds left). So it's pristine beauty.

      I bungee jumped, hang glided, whitewater rafted, skydove, glacial climbed and drank a lot of great beer all in 1 week

      Queenstown is the adrenaline capital of the world. The Nevis jump I did there is the second biggest one in the world. I really thought I was going to die. (Note: I didn't)
