The offer on the table would deliver more than $130 million in additional compensation to the writers, but it wasn't clear from the brief statement whether it was per year or over the life of a proposed new three-year agreement. Negotiators requested a four-day recess to consider it, meaning the talks will resume Tuesday, the statement said.

Conan O'Brien has agreed to pay the salaries for his non-writing staff next week. The 75 nonstriking workers are facing layoffs after today.
At the other networks, staffers for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" continue to be paid by ABC, while workers for the "Late Show with David Letterman" and "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" will be paid through December by Letterman's production company Worldwide Pants. -
