Scott Ritter: Bush Will Attack Iran In April 2008

An excerpt:

MT: And when Bush talks about being an instrument of God, do you think he really believes that or is that just political posturing, playing to the religious base?

Ritter: That's a question that can only be asked of George Bush. But I find it disturbing that an American politician who is supposed to be the head of a secular nation where religion is protected but there is no state religion, and who has control over the world's largest nuclear arsenal, not only openly talks about how God is his final adviser, which pretty much negates the role of Congress or any other system of governmental oversight, checks and balances of the executive, but also embraces a kind of evangelicalism that gives legitimacy to the notion of the rapture, Armageddon, the apocalypse as a good thing.

Here's a man who speaks of World War III and the apocalypse and he has his hand on the button and he talks to God. I don't know, if it's a show, its a dangerous show, if its real, we should all be scared to death.

Meanwhile, talks at the UN with Iran about their nuclear program have stalled and further sanctions against the country are on the table.

Every word he says is right on. Americans largely are consumers rather than informed citizens. They are suseptible to exploitation with fear stemming from widespread ignorance and are ill-served by a commercial media. But there is hope. Information is spread wider than ever before and is available at the push of a button. Let's hope the truth gets through to enough people to make a difference and stop this madness.

I would not be surprised, Bush is the kind of person who would start WWIII. Everybody get prepared because he will do it in a blink of an eye. He already told CNN, if Iran attacks Israel, it will be swift. Bush scares me more than the terrorist because of all the enemies he is creating.

Listen people 20 years from now we will look back and say that 9/11 was the start of World War III.

9/11 is the "Pearl Harbor" like event that allowed the government to be hijacked in the name of fighting an endless war on terror. (I appreciate the reference to V from Chique, just watched that movie V for Vendetta for the nth time the other night, Wow)

Do you honestly think that these fanatics who have seized the government in the name of their religion are going to let go of it that easily? I believe they are capable of just about anything. Just look at the systematic brainwashing that is going on of the youth in this country between Jesus Camps and No Child Left Behind and Faith Based Charities Initiatives. Evangelical Apocalyptic Christianity has made its way into every area of government.

We may very well end up in a second civil war in this country in the midst of World War III.

    ACK!
HOW CAN WE GET BUSH AND HIS WHOLE CABINET OUT OF OFFICE?!?!?!
Because if Bush is impeached that would leave Cheney as pres...and so on and so forth.
the only way to salvation is to stop them all!!!

Impeach them both! In fact, Cheney first! He's the brains behind this awful mess. Bush is just his sock puppet.

By now most people in the world would agree that the governing cycle of the war machine..should be ended. The amount of money spent in this industry would have sorted out all the world problems of health e.t.c.years ago if it had been stopped then. The weapons industry should be less important these days and the inteligence of people really communicating should be given the chance to blossom. If these world leaders really do want peace they have the ways and means to help it progress.Unfortunately war and weapons keep people distracted and earn money..look at the latest saudi contract for fighter planes? If the world becomes secure we can all look towards the way things should be for our children...As to the question of Iran having nuclear power..why not everyone else is getting it and oh yes remember the americans were the first to use it?Lets all put our good thoughts to this area of our lives and think positivly about swapping weapons for maybe a big stick?

I think he is not only capable of starting WWIII. I believe he will in the spring. He is a religious freak and wants the rapture. We have to pressure Cheney's impeachment NOW so maybe Bush will be afraid. After Cheney then we impeach Bush, without allowing him to name a new VP. That would leave us with President Prissy Pelosi, but only for a very short time with advisors all over the place. This is a have to.

I agree with MM. Surely he is not just willing to accept lame duck status quo and go quietly when his time is up.
I don't believe that will happpen. They will not let go of power unless we wrestle it out of their hands. Impeachment is the only way to stop this madness.

guys, Bush won't start this, he knows he will be impeached!!!!!! He will wink at israel, and they will take out nukes, because they have most to loose ie, their country....Bush is already lame....Don't think for a moment Hillary wouldn't take them out if the radicals(shiites) blew up the oil fields, and Europe came screaming to us as a unified group co-olition. They say she is the olnly man in washington....Remember we only use 15% of oil from m.east, but europe on the other hand would come to a stop in a few weeks....Lets see who was in power in WW1...democrat, WW2...democrat, Korean war....democrat, Viet Nam...democrat, I think Bush is the first pres. that was Republican for a war...so? its not about RvrsD...thats the smaller picture, keeps us fighting between ourselves.

Jubal, I like you..but hey...get it, the muslim world is manifesting itself in radical religion. So you think it is the radicals against the radicals, in a way it is...but it is a world view here at opposite ends...because neutral isn't going to cut it either. If there is no God, and no absolutes, then the law of the universe is strong man wins...since when do lions ask if its okay to eat zebras, its the law of nature for survival. Nature if you notice is not peaceful, have you seen tornadoes ask permission, hurricanes etc etc. And if you believe in no God who are you to tell the people who believe in one that they can't come against the enemy. Your doing what your telling them not to do. Look I too don't like this crazy world the mess we're in, sure, why can't we just get along, put down the guns. I'm all for it...now think about this senerio...someone breaks into your home, rapes your sisters, mom, wife, and then kills your brothers, dad and then your women...you are left alive, run to the authorities... see that they have caught the bad guys, but let them go...you get crazy...what s wrong with you????? I demand justice, and justice you should have, but they say, hey, we let them go, we/re a peaceful gov't. we want peace ...Its not easy is it...its not Bush or Chenney. If there is a God and we are made inHis image, then all life is precious. We are creatures created by God, not evolved from nothing...and if the enemy says become Islam or you die, well do you think they will go away either. The shiites after 1300 years are finnaly getting some power and they will not give it up.

I believe in and want a rapture too. I don't want to bomb to get it, but if you think the enemy won't bomb us, your in for a surprise..I still say I would love to be wrong and no one will come after us..I say let them have the bomb for protection...if I'm wrong still peace right? If your wrong where will you spend eternity? my concern is then.who is the God we answer to...I care about your soul, not the bomb...thats only my body, and if there is a God my soul is eternal...where will it be.

It seems like an endless war of terror, one I hate too. But the Book says it will end when the Messiah comes..only He will bring peace. Please don't believe the spin that radical islam wants peace with israel, they want them in the sea...and God says no...so who do you think wins?

Still got a problem..suppose no big war and we just die of old age...problem still exists...no God? one we made up?..what if there is just one God and He said what the facts are, after all if He is God he could do that right. Even though our ideas of fairness don't set the standard, its because we don't know enough about the God who revealed Himself to us in the Bible.

No God,... no absolutes, no absolutes,... strong man wins...no right or wrong ...says who, I'm having you for lunch...I'm stronger. So a civilized people wouldn't think like that...where do they get the idea of right or wrong if there is no God....just because they evolved to see thats the best way....whose best way, it is not natures law...survival remember, we came from nothing, we made it up, and if made up I don't have to agree with it...actually, you don't have to agree with it if there is a truth, one you don't like or want ...but regardless if it is true, it won't matter what I think if I disagree, it won't change the fact.

look foreward to hearing from you.

It is people like you who keep this going ihealing. Life has no meaning for you outside of the framework of the "book, the savior....." We should all chip and in send you Zeitgeist for the holidays. They wanted us to stay out of their countries (our military) simple as that. And they have that right.

fortunately ın nature there is the presence of survival instinct..which everyone is subject to.The bonus with humans is that we are supposed to have reason which does not work properly without standards and principles and values.Through out most debates these issues will be available to those that keep them as their most valuable assets to help resolve most problems when dealing at a personal level.Nature does not have a personal attidtude it only responds to its own nature. There seems to be a breakthrough in the recent discovery that Iran does not posses anything like mr bush thought they had..so maybe people are thinking more positively already..lets keep on generating good thoughts...
