  • I too believe this is a human rights violation, however we as Americans must stop imposing our moral values on other cultures. America is not far away from it's own human rights violations. Lets clean up our own back yard before we tell others how to clean theirs. Let's lead by example and not with words.

  • I agree that all countries should retain their own morality and culture. One big FAT america doesn't sound so nice to me.

    On the other hand... this is pretty effed up.

  • I had the misfortune of seeing this clip on Current and thought I might comment given the chance.

    Is the above contributor aware that the guy who was in the car with the woman was also raped? And that he also was sentenced to 90 lashes (the original punishment the woman received)? Neither party was punished by the courts for being raped, as far as I can tell, just for being in a car with a member of the opposite sex who was not a close relative.

    The clip above is an example of an unbalanced, poorly informed, knee-jerk reaction. And my message is an example of the same I suppose.

    I had better finish by saying that I think it mad that someone should be punished for being in a car with a member of the opposite sex who was not a close relative.
