looks like no Emerald Bowl for the Bears this year after the 20-13 defeat...

The lucky folks @ the Emerald Bowl are actually deciding between Pac-10 powerhouses UCLA and maybe Cal. They're supposed to take the Pac-10's 4th place team, and that's definitely not Cal, but they may try to take them anyway for the local connection.
Technically, that honour goes to UCLA who edged out Oregon for the coveted 4th place spot due to their tiebreaker win a couple weeks ago.
Did anyone actually care about this game? If you're a Stanford fan, you have to be excited with Harbaugh's first season - upset wins over 'SC and Cal? Not a bad start. -
I forgot the game was yesterday, having used up my quotient of sports team allegiance before arriving at college... I was actually at Berkeley watching Circus Oz yesterday and between the lack of wild partying on campus and the leaden reaction an anti-Stanford joke got during the performance, I should have known what had happened...
the only way Cal can counter the inevitable flood of Cardinal victories is to counter Harbaugh with the reformed Art Schlicter as head coach... it's a gamble that would work out nicely for the Bears... that was horrible...
