  • Searah Deysach, sex columnist and owner of Early to Bed, has spoken at Northwestern University for the past several years on the subject of sex toys and women's health--I expect other college campuses have similar symposiums, especially since they certainly generate a buzz. As best as I can remember, though, NU's annual sex talk never created much of a fracas.

    It IS serious subject matter, though, and it's frustrating to see people protest the speaker. College kids experiment, and it's really easy to cause internal injury if you don't understand the, um, ins and outs of, uh. The video is funny, but disheartening. After all, colleges also spend money on teaching engineering, for instance, and even though that subject matter doesn't apply to me, it isn't like I'm raising a stink about funds going toward educating people about something that doesn't affect me or have bearing on my own life.
