Check out the wikipage on Cindy!
Her own website is www.cindyblackman.com, but it autoplays, which isn't fun on current.com!

I guess this might be the UK's male answer to Cindy. Jungle Drummer has become synonymous with the live aspect of the Drum and Bass scene.
He doesn't play to a click and has the best rhythm I have ever seen. Imagine having such a strong drummer that a DJ can beat-match a tune to the drummer, truly amazing.
Click the link for some live examples and a few words from both Jungle Drummer and his DJ.

Some handy info on Jungle Drummer here. For example, his real name is Chris Polglase and he has a friend called Phat Chex. I'm off to buy the film rights.

Brilliant musician and amazing work ethic. It's awesome to see where she is and hear her heart. Her emotional yet professional approach is lacking in so many musicians today.

What a cool short doc. she is amazing. if t.v had more documentary's like this i think i would watch more. so many aren't aware of the cool of jazz and our musical past.
-
She's an inspiration to me. I could only hope to one day achieve the level of professionalism and skill that she has.
-
I am glad this beautiful talented drummer is inspiring. She has much more give and show that motivation is active. Drumming is loud and aggressive and it's for ladies too.
-
Great topic choice! One of female jazz drummers I admire.
I like that throughout the entire film she is drumming. Keeping the rhythm the whole time.-

I hear Tony Williams and Alan Dawson when I close my eyes. She is an excellent musician and percussionist, that happens to be female.
-
This doc - like it's subject - is amazing! I think it shows she's definitely more than just "the chick in the Lenny Kravitz" video.

Art Blakey, Max Roach, Roy Haynes, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams... explicitly called out on Current TV... wow!
-
being a self taught musician, i was inspired by Cindy. i was always a fan but never got to hear her little take on the radiator going haywire. i've been inspired by environmental percussions in my journey and it was great to see someone else trying to mimic what they'd heard in their world. thanks cindy for continually kickin butt. great piece, creativity is life!

Hey man, nice job! She is a really beautiful lady

One of my favorite things about this pod was the way it answered MY question, which is, "How does it feel being a female artist in such a male-dominated medium" and her answer -- she just doesn't break it down that way. It doesn't factor in. She said something like "I was never told I couldn't have a drumset because I was a girl...it was because they're too loud, too expensive..." LOL. Great sound bite. Great profile of an inspiring musician.

So where's the Konkrete, NYC Jungle Crew b-boying video that was on Current TV awhile ago, it's like Shaolin Kung Fu mixed with capoirea, and Bagha Zang ie- Wudang Daoist taichi dragon kung fu, done to drum and bass music like your Omni in the Jungle gone black op.
LOL.
