The Ashera Cat is the newest trend in designer exotic pets. It is priced at $22,000 and comes from two wild bloodlines, the African Serval and Asian
Leopard cat, crossed with an undisclosed domestic breed.

  • Hey nickdotnet - yeah - they are crazy expensive, but you have to admit they are cool! Some people pay good money for a purebred Dalmation because they think it is a beautiful breed of dog. This is like the cat version, and if I could get one of these at a discount I'd be all over it.

  • Very true - it is gorgeous. If they were priced normally I would be all over it too. Can't justify it on a pet, but I guess if you got money to burn and nothing better to invest it in....

    my friends roommate has one. it sneaks around the house and attacks you when you're not looking. every time i leave i have tons of scratches and claw marks. they say it takes a long time for it to get used to you. must be animal instincts.

  • Makes sense not to spend tons of money, especially when you don't have it. On the other for someone like Bill Gates picking up a cat like that would be like me picking up a gallon of milk. understand?

  • Servals and Asian Leopards are both beautiful cats. We own a Bengal (bred from the Asian Leopard) and a Savannah (bred from the Serval) and love them both. Our next pick if we have the money is definitely a Serval. All of these cats are very dog-like in their activities and always amaze you in their behavior.

    Must be nice to fork over $22k for a cat though....
