  • Is it the same in the US as it is in Britain?

  • Hahahahaha. That's funny, about the abstinence programs. Seriously, I about laughed sitting here in my office.

I don't get why people get so hyphy about sex ed. It's an important part of life. Sooner or later people are gonna have sex, they should be educated about it when they do. It will be safer and I bet the sex will be better too.

  • Yes Swiyya, just as effective as we knew it would be. Those raging teenage hormones are outtalking abstinence. Another case of religious views mixing with politics. We can see how well this is working out.

  • Shit, I don't get it, i just don't, i mean, what's so difficult about NOT getting pregnant??? But, maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones, with a concerned and comprehensive mother. And I actually payed attention to my sex education classes, lol I've had them since my fifth grade. In MEXICO. And here too. Am I simply plain different, I don't think so, I'm like every other teenage girl. I think it's just a matter of knowing your priorities in life. I miss my momma now.. :( If you are a teenage girl reading this, please check out this website www.scarleteen.com, do so also if you are a teenage boy, or just an adult that doesn't believe he or she knows everything............ :) peace!

  • I have to disagree with the response that Jade_azul left. I have read a number of professional journal articles that state that teenage girls are extremely fertile, and can become pregnant in the most unlikely of circumstances. When I was a teenager I had my priorities straight. I had my college and career picked out at 14, I was a talented ballerina, I had a very traditional religious family, a very "concerned and comprehensive" mother, I was on honor roll, I also had sex ed since 5th grade and paid attention as I did with all my studies, and I became pregnant at 15. The fact of the matter is that as human beings we are hard wired to desire sexual contact and even when safeguards are in place (protection, birth control) teen pregnancies happen, and as a society we are not dealing with this issue properly.
