We have not persuaded ourselves to make the changes. What will it take to persuade all of us to make these changes? We have our fires, floods, droughts, tanker spills, mine collapses. Every day it seems like an insurmountable challenge to get anyone to actually do something substantial. We gott a keep pushing for it. You are the generation that is gonna make this happen.

Its definitely worthwhile championing alternative energy initiatives in the US and Europe. But trying to persuade an emerging superpower with massive energy needs and an embarrassing record on human rights

Ok, so you all remember the huge headlines for weeks in the US when the mine in Utah collapsed, killing 6, and then killing 3 more rescue workers, right? That was a pretty big deal for us.
This mine collapse in China has killed 70 so far, with another 16 missing... A collapse in August killed 170. And 4,000 people die in mining accidents in China every year!!!
Who's up for alternative energy?! Solar, wind, and water are all looking more and more attractive given the pollution and deaths that come with oil and coal!
