  • This article just shows how long the battle against Scientology has been up for debate. The religion has seen a rise in people joining the movement after a number of celebrities have signed up.

In a report filed to the French PM almost 9 years ago, the church was described as a "totalitarian" sect that kept files containing personal information on its members.

Wonder if there's a priest in Hollywood waiting to sell some details?

  • ok so let me get this straight. "their symbol" is a Latin cross with a four pointed star on it and it stands for salvation. hmm were have i seen exactly the same symbols before. oh yea, a 2000 year old religion called christianity. seems that this whole scientology scam is just a load of religions slapped together by a delusional man 40 yrs ago

  • They just do not consider it a religion. More of a organization that imitates religions, (and possibly ridicules). If you look at their sign it does not even seem like a sign you would see on a church, temple, synagogue, or mosque. Instead a sign like the Hollywood sign, signs in Vegas (like the ones on casinos), and maybe an Exotic Dancer sign; a huge sign in all capital letters; it says "look at me", but is annoying.

  • I hope Tom Cruise does awareness commercials in the US. He should make it on a space airplane. He should mention thetans, Xenu, and volcanoes as often as possible. It would be great!

  • As weird as I personally think Scientology is, should it be rightfully banned? And is it any "weirder" than any other religion? I am very weary of this – isn't one man's cult another man's religion? Isn't cult + time = religion?

  • I hate to say it but khsing is right. Every current religion was once ostracized and treated as a cult.

    But dammit I hate scientology!
