I recently heard about Mono through my friend who works in the music industry. He gave me a C.D and I've been amazed with them ever since. Just turn this up, and leave them to it. If you like it check them out on myspace for more tracks (and better quality)
The reason I post it is because I've not heard much else like it. It's like Sigor Ros but heavier at times, and a little more dramatic and moody.

At first, I thought it was the UK group with the exact same name who sang the song 'Life in Mono' which is on the Great Expectations' soundtrack. However, this Japanese band is great . . . will definitely check their site for additional tracks.

Mono is great. I really happy to see them live atleast once, if they come back to the US again. I'll be sure to see them again.

I came across this band at a dark point in my life. I am not one for tears, tend to repress emotion. but upon hearing "Flames from beyond the cold mountain" I broke down into tears. It was so moving, so intense, so beautiful. These guys are truely masters of their craft and should be exhaulted for their work.
