So maybe I've been living under a rock; I know that photos are retouched, but wow. Dove just lays it out there, and really gave me a whole new perspective of models in advertisements. Check out what happens behind the beauty industry in Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty commercial.

  • This is an incredible series and very brave of Dove to do. Here is another one of the series of commercials. LOVE it!

  • I was loyal to Dove pre-Campaign for Real Beauty...but I think that Dove is phenominal and very respectable for showing women that beauty comes in all shapes, colors, sizes, and features. Rock on, Dove!!

  • Didn't InfoMania do a segment on the Dove adverts? Apparently, it's not quite as soapy clean a story as one might like to believe.

  • I like it. It is very brave, but you know what this means? Fall back. If I ever wanted to I could model, all they have to do is stretch me so I'm a few inches taller. Okay, a foot. Whose counting? ;) thank god for some normality in advertising. Way to go Dove.

  • The funny thing about this parody is that even the 'ugly' girl wasn't ugly, she was natural and healthy. Whereas this guy went out of his way to make himself ugly. So it really has no credibility and very little relation to the issue when you take away the similar way it was shot. Dove is not saying ban the beautiful people. And I for one find art in every form, though they may not all have the same attractions. Some forms are pleasing threw semetry, some threw grit, some threw innocence or elegance or childishness. You miss so much beauty if all you do is look at models all day. Some faces are arresting, reguardless of 'beauty' because there is more there than 'physical perfection.' For instance I do not find that male model attractive whereas I have meet many men who may have not been so good looking but were definately drool worthy. The so called physical perfection isn't everything. I personally thank god for reality, and rejoice in all the different shapes and colors of people popular or not. There is beauty almost everywhere if you look.

  • Oh! No, I can not even recognize myself now!
Anyway, GOD BLESS these girls. It is a hard work, and it is the imagination of beauty that sales and their body clock is ticking. Love yourself, others around you and make the best of it!

  • Love Dove for being a cut above the rest. It's about time someone exposed the reality of commercial beauty and promotes natural beauty inside and out.

  • Advertising these days is all about selling a product no matter what it takes. Its a good thing that dove is showing this to the public but when it comes down to it, I can't help but wonder if this campaign is just another way of selling their own product...

  • I've seen this video so many times and it still creeps me out.

  • That's. . .mind blowing. And it's true; our definition of beauty is really distorted.
