the font could be a little more appealing, and the music at the beginning gets a little annoying, but it stops when the guy starts talkin...

    I LOVE THIS POD!!

I WANT A HOUSE JUST LIKE THAT ONE! :)

Very cool house and ideas. Good combination of fun funky style and to the point info. I would like to know who that guy is though, if his project is funded, etc.

Really nice pod. What a great example of appropriate technology in use. The ultimate recycling project!

Building like this would definitely reduce the houses carbon footprint. I'm planning on building a passive solar home and this pod has given me some ideas on materials. I have been investigating alternative, green building materials, some made with recycled content, but actually salvaging and reusing material myself would take the recycling and green building concept to the next level.

I thought the pacing and music/vocal levels were really well done. The one cut away from the inside of the tub seemed abrupt to me, or maybe I just wanted to see it a little better or longer. I would have been interested in how they heat their water too.

I think the amount of movement that you included in this pod was risky, but you pulled it off. It worked well with the music, keeping this pod exciting, while the solid story gives it poignancy. Congratulations and thank you.

I thought this was very interesting and like the concept. I was wondering what they do to recycle water and also what back up plans they have in case of drought.

I was waiting with baited breath for this pod - you did a great job! Earthships rule! If only I could afford to have one built for my hubby and me, and a few more for my son, for my daughter, for my grand-daughter, and for my like-minded friends... :)

Finally, upbeat styling on a subject usually very sedate and boring. Great job!

    Hey D&D,

Thanks for bringing this to us. I've seen earthships before, though I forget through what media.

What really struck me in this piece is that they were reclaiming the land as well.

Please check out my Land For The People project at http://landforthepeople.org and join in. The Forum is open and I welcome you and others to post. You can even add a link to the video.

I love the music, editing, information. I was interested the whole time. The intent could have been a little clearer in the beginning. Right after the Earthship title, a text saying what Earthship is. Also, a job title under Ron's name would be great so we know who he is.

Thanks for your entertaining education. Greenlight for sure. Also keep me updated on your new videos. I love seeing what people are up to out there in the green world.

This type of home development works well in that climate and with less restrictive building code regulations. In Maryland where we live it is not practical nor legal within our city limits to pursue that type of structure. However with double insulation, underground geothermal heat/cool system, shade trees and other energy saving lights/appliances, we've lowered our carbon output and saved lots of money too. Perhaps someday we can buy another home just like the Taos community. Great job on the video editing, music and story telling. Green Light! -DR

Nice pod! Really liked the music! Good choice! It brings you into the story before the story actually begins. I like the shaky real feel to it! Good job! Hope this gets picked!

What a great pod. We've seen the Earthship community from the distance on our way up to Taos and will make sure to check it out next time.

I was especially interested in seeing how they did the glass bottle walls. They are so organic.

I've been aggravating my family by collecting bottles for a bottle wall for years Since I learned about how miner's built houses out of bottle walls in the mid and late 1800s when water to clean them was more costly than gold. Because I want to do something constructive with the bottles of mineral water our family buys, I designed some bottle walls and buildings, but have yet to get out there with my shovel to make the adobe mud and start building. Just waiting for the mud to get warm and soft enough to work. This pod shows how great bottle walls can look once they are done. Thanks.

touchart, good luck on your wall. That is great! It is very worth the stop to the Earthship center when you get a chance. take the family and they will understand you bottle collecting. :)

Love it. Excellent work and story.

I agree that the fonts could be a little better.

Thanks Jubal. If Current TV buys a pod they do all their own editing and adding of fonts anyway so on this one I did nothing special with fonts. I don't much like my font choices either.

I never knew that about current reediting the videos, I guess I did notice that the ones on the air were different sometimes from the ones that were submitted.
