How do you hear from God concerning your creative talent?

"Be in the place where God is speaking." How am I supposed to know where God is speaking? Isn't he omnipresent? How do I hear God?
"Get rid of the noise." What noise? If God's omnipotent, he can use his outside voice.
"Refrain from silencing God when his voice conflicts with your 'voice'." So I'm to ignore reason in favor of God? That sounds ridiculous. Why would God give us the ability to think if it got in the way of his voice? -

Basically this describes how God longs for a relationship with the people that He created.
It's like a father having children that never get to spend quality time together. They both miss out on so much because they never spend one on one time together.
Much of that over the years causes them to drift apart. -
I don't understand how this answers my question, but I have far too many questions about God to expect any answers. You can relate such analogies to the concept of God, but it is all useless, idle speculation, as God is just an intangible, arbitrary, and ultimately inconclusive explanation for that which we do not know. I cannot comprehend your answers, for I cannot understand the concept of a spirit, soul, or any other such ethereal metaphor. I have failed to obtain a clear definition of any of the following; if you could define any of them without the utilization of each other, please do so.
Soul
Spirit
"heart"
heaven
"voice"
angel
prayer
Furthermore, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent apparently do not mean what they imply whenever God himself is at fault. ex: Bad things are caused by the devil, even though God has the power to destroy anything. If God truly posesses these attributes, the world would be perfect.
