From dog meat alley... to the gutting of a cobra, does eating exotic meat increase virility? And how do we judge what meat is acceptable to eat?
I was in Jamaica once when a little kid ran up to me and said, "Do you know Chinese people eat dog?" I wanted to reply, "Do you know Vietnamese-American's eat little children!" Instead, I bit my tongue while the boy's father followed with, "Do you know Chinese people eat monkey brain?" For a long time I thought only the other Asian ethnicities ate strange meat like dog. But while living in Vietnam, there were one too many occasions when Vietnamese friends tried to feed me dog (while secretly hiding their laughter) by claiming it was beef. With varied reactions like, "oh, that's a northern Vietnamese thing," or "our family doesn't eat that - that's lower class".... to "that tasted as good as filet mignon;" I still wondered even as a dog lover, "what IS the big deal?" Why do people eat what is considered from a western standpoint, taboo or exotic food? In Rare Meat, I take look, while Chris Tran goes on an all-out jungle barbeque ranging from dog meat...to Cobra's heart - for knowledge and virility(?). This pod was edited by Todd Brown.

Dude....this was soooooo gross! But I couldn't stop watching. Can't call my bigot friend a liar anymore can I. I know I only find it gross because here, in the Western side of the world, dogs are just as important as human life (and don't tell me that's not the case because it's true for alot of people). Heck, the idea of eating monkey brains comes too close to eating my own kind, so it's all just nastiness to me. Some things are just not meant to be eaten! It's like, if it won't kill ya, chuck it down! Ewwww, bleh, yuck.
Awesome pod. Hope to see this on the tube. -
This was so much fun to do.... Thanks for the opportunity to help out.

Hah, sorry to disappoint but despite my carnivorous appetite after having been vegetarian for two years, It would have to be a life-or-death situation.
My response to the superpower comment above: I don't know, considering China's growing influence to this globe and economy, I just don't see them giving up the dog.
