Lies Cosmo Tells Women

Cosmopolitan Magazine has become a bible for the martini swilling, fashion conscious, and orgasm starved female. While this has been helpful to women by aiding them in achieving the perfect bikini wax, it has regularly clouded their minds about men. In fact, I would say that Cosmo has done more damage to men than Barry Bonds has done to baseball

  • Umm I find the mans reasoning to the Cosmo reasoning to be incredibly humorous and probably dead on...

...FOR A VERY SMALL FRACTION OF THE MALE POPULATION! HA!

    What do you guys think?

  • you mean there really aren't 42,836,711 ways to drive your man wild in bed? (assuming they don't recycle 'ways' from issue to issue)

  • I agree with the poster that most of Cosmo is sad bullshit that is also very demeaning to women. But I have to disagree with him on one of the article's points. Guys don't change their sheets as often as they should. Phew! Hold your nose, girls.

  • Hah, I was amused that David and Leo from All My Children are in the photo...(yeah, I'm a nerd, okay? haha)...but I agree. I'm not a huge fan of Cosmo. They should put a voucher in there for free high-fashion boots to wear when they shovel all that bullpoo at us...

  • Wasn't it Mary Schmich who said, "Do not read beauty magazines. They will only make you feel ugly." Hear hear!

  • Alright, I'll admit that the response was amusing and that Cosmo is full of some serious bs that is just re-written each month to smell new, but, I disagree that it is always demeaning to women or without any merit. It teaches young women that it's healthy to enjoy and want sex. This might not seem too revolutionary to the progressive crowd, but it really is a forward-thinking concept for a lot of young women, particularly teenagers growing up with no other valid form of sexual education, (sorry, abstinence day in health class doesn't count).

  • I agree with Sonrisa. I think the value of the magazine is opening up the conversation of women's sexual pleasure, something that some young girls need to be told is okay to desire.

and It's not like Men's magazines don't contain BS, too... giving them false ideas on "what a woman really wants." Most women aren't as stupid as to buy into everything cosmo says. I for one, get that when a guy sits with his legs open, it's a comfort thing.
