Musu is an expermential collage one-minute documentary that I produced last year. Mandinke is an ancient African Language that is spoken all accross Sub-Sahara Africa. The word Musu also Mousou means Woman. My short is a collective of photos of some of the women in my family. All of the musu in my family have high cheeks, cat eyes, full lips and oval chin. I just wanted to re-live my chidhood and mesh things together and play with the process of piecing things together. And that is what this piece is.
Take this ride with me and re-live the child in you who used to upset your mother after discovering her cut out photos and magazine images.
