Dan Fogelberg, the singer and songwriter whose hits defined the soft-rock era, died on Sunday. His songs, such as "Same Old Lang Syne," were powerful in their simplicity, conveying his emotions through his soft, tender delivery and his poignant lyrics. Wonderful photographs and the music video of "Same Old Lang Syne" are included.

This is so sad. I loved Fogelberg's music.
He will be sorely missed. -
I want to say condolences also to
Maggie, his first wife. I met her
in boco at a ranch there.
If you ever see this, Maggie,
I know its a hard time for all
of Dan's fans, but especially for
you his beautiful never forgotten
first wife.
I wish I had come to help you during
your tough times but I had to finish college
and I was sorry to hear you and Dan did
finally break it off. I hope your eight
horses were OK and I know this is
a very tough time for you as well as
for all of us very sorrowful in mourning fans.
Thank you for helping teach me
dressage and discipline, you really
are a great teacher, Maggie.
L,
Laurie, from the days we escaped
the other ranch before you both moved
South Co. Always miss both of you........
