Breaking News: Fire finally out at Eisenhower Building

Firefighters battled thick smoke and flames inside the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, next door to the White House, on Wednesday.

No details as of yet on how the fire started.

UPDATE: Firefighters quickly doused a two-alarm fire Wednesday in the historic Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which houses the vice president's ceremonial offices and the majority of the White House staff.

Firefighting crews used axes to break windows on the third floor of the ornate building shortly after the two-alarm blaze broke out after 9 a.m.

    • Well, well, well... the fire broke out in Cheney's office - could the burning of evidence pointing to Cheney's guilt (think impeachment proceedings) have gotten out of hand?

      Furthermore, paper fire produces white smoke in large quantities, whereas electrical fire produces black smoke in small quantities.

    • This pisses me off sooo much. You can't tell me these buildings aren't constantly checked for safety to avoid fire. And you can't tell me that somehow an outside arson snuck in there and sit it ablaze. This is obviously an inside job hoping to conceal evidence by destroying it. There's no end to what this administration of facist neocons will do to get there way and cover their ass. Can't wait to the headline next week: "All Documents Needed to Prove the War on Terror Is Illegal Were Burned in Recent Blaze". Great.

      I really just can't believe any more the kinds of things this administration pulls.
      Who knows, It might have been an accident, but in all seriousness THEY CAN NOT BE TRUSTED ANY MORE!!!!

    • This is a building containing vast archives of documents, a building which Bush visits often. Could the Bush administration have set it on fire so as to destroy evidence?
