Starbucks is way better for coffee. Besides, if you want a donut (and why else would you be at Dunkin' Donuts?) then Krispy Kreme is WAY better.
Seriously. Nothing in this universe is as good as a fresh, hot, glazed donut for Krispy Kreme. Bliss. -
ive never even understood the comparison... if i want coffee.. im going to think "coffee shop" (ala starbucks) before I ever pretend to think "crappy doughnut shop that also by chance sells some drip coffee"...
I say.. if you are anti starbucks go to your local coffee shop , not some sub par doughnut place.
and I agree.. krispy kreme is the only place anyone should splurge on a doughnut at, though I am from Winston-Salem, so I am a little biased :) -
I agree these two stores are in completely different leagues.

maybe this is an assumption but i think more readers of current will go for starbucks, i don't like coffee though.

starbucks for the upscale connoisseur? i think not. starbucks for the easily marketable? sure.
a real coffee lover knows the beauty of coffee comes in the quality of the beans, the local roasting, the fresh grinding, the crafting of the drink, etc. etc.
to me, a coffee lover, there isn't anything appealing about the universal taste of burnt coffee offered at these powerhouses. and all though your favorite "it" celebrity wouldn't be caught dead with anything less then their venti double soy caramel frap, i'll opt for the local special at joe's coffee shop. -
@jamika88--I'm another North Carolinian, so I'm probably biased too. Krispy Kreme is the BEST.

in desperation the other day, i found myself at a dunkin donuts for the first time in years. i have to say, i came a way very impressed. the coffee was actually great. almost, but not quite on par with starbucks

Not a fan of either, up here in the great white north (Canada) we are all addicted to Tim Hortin's coffee. Not as 'questionable' as double D but not as la-di-da as Starbucks (though the Apple wireless idea is tempting - but we don't get sort of treatment up here).
