What did a Hartford-area Whole Foods do when its registers crashed? It didn't use them. Instead, cashiers bagged up people's groceries and wished them on their merry way...without making them pay. In all, the store gave away about $4000 worth of food before the computers came back online.
Based on Whole Foods' prices, I'd estimate that the registers were down for approximately 15 seconds.

Stop teasing me with that salad bar photo. I have to drive 4 hours to get to the nearest Whole Foods:(
Needless to say, I wouldn't make a special trip, but when I do go, I hit the salad bar hard!
Is it to much to hope for computer failure next time
I'm there?-
