Swiss Chris is John Legends Music Director and Drummer and founder of SWISS, Saving With Instruments Samples and Soundz that helps people all over the world, recently doing a benefit for Aung San Suu Kyi, leader of the nonviolent movement for human rights and democracy in Burma (Myanmar), and Nobel laureate who has been jailed most of the last 10 years for speaking out about freedom.
Swiss recently signed with CPR Recording as a producer, writer and artist and will be working on the revival of the Last Poets. The Last Poets is a group of poets and musicians who arose from the late 1960s African American civil rights movement's black nationalist thread. Their name is taken from a poem by the South African revolutionary poet Keorapetse Kgositsile, who believed he was in the last era of poetry before guns would take over.
The Last Poets have been cited as one of the earliest influences on what would become hip-hop music; critic Jason Ankeny writes, "With their politically charged raps, taut rhythms, and dedication to raising African-American consciousness, the Last Poets almost single-handedly laid the groundwork for the emergence of hip-hop.
DJ Johnny Juice Remix master and legendary Strong Island DJ, producer and master turntablist, DJ Johnny Juice brings over a decade of vital elements to many of the hottest Hip Hop projects ever created. Juice's work with the first two Public Enemy albums has been embedded into hip hop history. His renowned remixes and highly-sought after engineering skills make him a valuable commodity. His intelligent approach to the rap terrain has maneuvered him into being a respected asset on the forefront of a new music revolution.
