and I believe she loves it, it required her to move to North Carolina, from Florida, after she was accepted during her graduation at the University of Florida. I heard from her that for the first two years, she gets a bonus of $4,000 a year for school related expenses, on top of whatever her regular salary is. Enyet for Christmas she wanted: a computer projector, paper, pens, pencils, and a few other odds and ends.
My sister is also attending college in North Carolina, going towards some sort of law degree while also participating in the TFA program.
She has mentioned a few things about her students, as to their behavior, to my understanding the school is kind of rough, probably in one of the low tiers of achievement, which is kind of hard for a new teacher to work with.
It's an interesting program, I hope that with the current shortage of teachers, the program could provide a better education in the future, but currently, since I believe it is a new program I don't think it's completely functional yet, but it's a good start.
