I saw INLAND EMPIRE in the theatre. Damn near ruined me. I think seeing it on any format is quite frightening; though I agree with him, that seeing any film on a smaller format is definitely depriving yourself of the experience.
That David Lynch, such a nut. -
Awesome.
Just watched Eraserhead again recently. It would be foolish to watch that on a phone.-

I don't get the visual difference between sitting in the back of a theater or holding a hi-res phone a foot in front of your face in a darkened room. Sounds like luddite criticism.

Your phone is fine for tv shows and maybe other films, I just wouldn't recommend watching Lynch's movies on it. Basically, Lynch uses every bit of the frame to full effect to add to his ethereal creepy landscapes. Your phone is so small, you might miss some of the detail. you're not going to be able to see what that weird picture on the wall is, or what the hell that dog just ate, because they are not the focal point. But these details sure as hell add to the mood.
