Following the recent slew of girl-has-baby-happy-ending films this year, Ellen Goodman discusses the representation of the right to choose in recent US films. Literate and absorbing. I think she's absolutely right that Hollywood has a Disneyfied outlook on what it means to keep a baby. One commenter on AlterNet argues, 'no baby - no film', but I'd go and see a film about a girl choosing to have an abortion. What are your thoughts?

A Salon.com pod from Rebecca Traister - a very cool lady - about the current trends in film concerning unexpected pregnancies.

There are a bunch of articles/essays about this recent trend in films. (Knocked Up, Waitress, Juno) I was reading one of them (maybe in Bitch magazine...? can't remember) and it highlighted a film called "4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days". A film that isn't afraid to discuss "smashmortion"
