Wow, ok so I had heard of this before and I have seen many pictures of pieces done. I will admit that I was even thinking of getting a piece done myself, but now after watching the scalpel blade slice through that person’s skin made me cringe so much that I have changed my mind.

I have several tattoos and they were painful enough for me. So I think I'll give this a miss thank you very much.

that's awesome there's a video for this. i wonder how much it costs to have a professional cut you. because if i had the money i'd so pay him to cut this sketch onto my forearm.
-
bodymod.org has plenty of scarification pics as well as tattoos and piercings.

I tried this on myself (on my leg) and liked the results but his work is truly amazing and beautiful.Anyone in DFW area do this professionally?

Actually scarification is one of humanity's oldest forms of intentional body modification. In general individuals underwent the process of cutting for spiritual purposes or cultural identification, but in the last twenty years scarification has become the black sheep of body art. I have a friend who runs a scar art "parlor" out of her apartment. This might sound questionable, but she goes to great lengths to provide a safe and sterile experience for her clients. Sometimes the process is bloody and sometimes it isn't--depends on the person. At the worst clients say they feel the pressure of the sterile blade on the skin, but virtually no one claims to feel pain. I don't have any scar art myself, but I don't see where--if the artist is as careful as my friend--scar art is any more dicey than getting a tattoo.

In some parts in Africa it is looked as an attractive quality for both men and women. More you have, the more hot you are.

im realy in to tats but that seams a lil TOO hardcore for me. but saying that makes me want it. :]

At first i thought that the scars would not look so precise, but those looked great, i wouldn't do it myself but its a good looking alternative to tattooing.
