Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani believes that the United States needs a president who is a "proven leader and a problem solver." How does Giuliani hold up to his own standards? Let's take a look.
Giuliani's failures as a leader date back to the original attack on the World Trade Center on Feb. 26, 2003, when FDNY firefighters inside the WTC discovered that their radios were defective. Giuliani's administration replaced the defective radios with more defective radios on a NO BID contract. These new radios were proven to be ineffective but were never replaced. On 9/11 an evacuation order was given over the radio to firefighters and police, but none of the firefighters in the buildings got the call, resulting in completely unnecessary loss of life. All NYPD officers in the building had working radios. They all got the call and they all escaped alive.
In addition to providing firefighters with faulty radios after the first attack in '93, Giuliani decided to place the emergency communications command center, where else, but at the World Trade Center. Placing the emergency response center at that location left it completely useless on 9/11 - it had to be evacuated before the building collapsed on itself. Police detectives were seen yelling in the streets, saying, "We told him not to put it here!"
After the attack in 2001, Giuliani wandered the streets talking to reporters. rather than isolating himself in a secure location with fire and police officials to orchestrate the rescue and recovery operation. Uniformed officials were left to deal with the chaos themselves.
Giuliani even called off the search for human remains within hours of recovering all of the gold belonging to the Bank of Nova Scotia that had been stored at the WTC. Rudy Giuliani claimed that the firefighters needed to stop for their own safety, leaving hundreds of human remains unaccounted for (these people's remains ended up in the Staten Island dump, instead of being turned over to their families). When firefighters protested Giuliani's decision, he had them ARRESTED. The search for remains continued, but only after Giuliani received bad press about the injustice.
Just watch the video and see for yourself.

The page in the link about is from the IAFF, a union/lobbying group of firefighters. I admit, that was not the group I expected to see putting up a website opposing Giuliani.

Giulliani is a joke without a prayer of winning. He's only running to give the Ripusofficans the appearance of a cohesive party, but Giulliani is bought, and paid for - rewarded for his part in the 9/11 issue.

This came out to some publicity on DVD back in July -- it seemed to not have affected his rise as frontrunner for the nomination, but thankfully he has not had enough to sustain his momentum -- due to some bizarre campaigning tactics that has him deliberately dropping out of Iowa and New Hampshire. Have to at least show up there, Rudy.

Thanks for the specifics Ando_B. This man has no qualifications to run for the Presidency and if didn't happen to be mayor during 9/11 no one would give him a second look.

Here's a NYT article that gives more info about the DVD and the IAFF.

i never even considered voting for Giuliani but this says a lot about his incompetence
this is also ironic because he campaign is mostly centered around his "success" in managing 9/11 -

Thanks Vierotchka - these videos were very sobering but show Guiliani as a self promoter and a liar.
