Christian Roselund, noted NPR and Free Speech Radio News correspondant describes the debacle surrounding proposed demolitions in New Orleans. He rails the Bush administration for political favoritism against inaction and failed attempts to repopulate the city.
NEO LIBERALISM, also called privitization of the public sector, he claims, is the root source of the dilema. He sites the closing of public institutions and dishonesty among governmental agencies as the reason why repopulation efforts have mostly bennifited the rich, and the poor are not being welcomed, or even allowed, to return to their homes.
This video shows documentary evidence that housing is available, but HUD and HANO refuse to allow repopulation at the expense of demoltion.

I like this piece but in addition to Mr. Roselund, I would really like to hear what the displaced New Orleans residents think about what is going on.

bstein, Thanks for commenting.........
This is a teaser just to present the issue...
I'm working on the 30 minute version covering the arrests and pepper spraying of angry residents at the Dec. 20th New Orleans City Council meeting. We interviewed dozens of Orleanians who made it a point to be in New Orleans for the vote on the demolitions.
Stay tuned. As soon as I have a viewable cut, I'll toss it up on-line...
