Howard Stern gave props to Ron Paul on his show today saying that Ron Paul is "fantastic," that "People love this guy when he talks. He makes sense." Good for Stern, good for Ron.

When Howard talks, people listen.
-
yeah, just like they did when he threw the 2004 election to Kerry with his massive influence
-
@96th - c'mon do your homework. Of course he's a registered voter - he was running for Governor of NY some years ago, remember?
If you think Howard's show is all about genitalia and flatulence, you should try listening to the show sometime to see how wrong you are. You sound like one of the "religious coalition" people that constantly rail against the content of his show without actually listening and understanding the concept of sarcasm in its full context.
It sounds like you're more upset that an uncensored, unregulated medium exists in the first place.-

My vote is now spoken for. Unlike Sanjaya and American Idol these votes will actually count this time. very interesting
-
that makes sense. Stern may not be everyone's cup of tea, but he's a fiercely individualistical individual who will always speak his mind whether it's PC or not. This endorsement proves that Ron Paul is speaking a message that resonates with Americans like no one else has in years.

Howard is a brilliant satirist and clearly knows his politics if you listen to his show at all.
This isn't that big of a surprise since Howard was going to run for Governor of New York as a Libertarian. His values (with the exception of the whole evolution thing) seem to closely match Ron Paul's.
Hell, if he could help Sanjaya almost win American Idol, what's he gonna do for Ron Paul?? -
Howard halted his march to the governor's mansion on his own because he didn't want to disclose his income. Can you blame him for that?
"Four months after getting the nomination, Stern dropped out because he refused to disclose his income, as mandated by state law."
After dropping out of the race, he actually helped Pataki get elected when he threw his support behind the newcomer. At that time Pataki was a huge underdog against the incumbent Cuomo. Howard was tight was Senator Al D'Amato who backed Pataki...who Howard later backed...who Giuliani later backed...who ended up thrashing the incumbent.
Also, don't forget, he helped get Christine Todd Whitman elected Gov of New Jersey. -
But the question remains. Who will Riley Martin be backing?

From NY Times article in 1995:
It started out as an on-the-air jape: the shock-jock extorting a promise from the candidate in exchange for his endorsement.
But now it's for real: Gov. Christine Todd Whitman today named a nondescript rest area on Interstate 295 south of here in honor of Howard Stern, the WXRK radio and former late-night television host whose on-air language has prompted penalties by the Federal Communications Commission. An 8 1/2-inch-by-11-inch aluminum plaque will be mounted on a cement base at the rest area, showing a caricature of Mr. Stern peering out of an old-fashioned outhouse. "Howard Stern Rest Stop Dedicated 1995" reads the inscription. Cost: $1,000. Source of funds: private, said the Governor's press office.
It was intended as a lighthearted gesture, but reporters, promoting public standards, reminded Mrs. Whitman that Mr. Stern was considered to be no joke to many people.
"It was a commitment that I made, and as some of you have discovered, I am in the habit of keeping my promises," Mrs. Whitman said, rather stiffly. -

Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf is digging it from beyond the grave.
RIP, Hank. -
Take a closer read - nowhere do you see me endorsing Ron Paul. My point was not to dismiss Howard's endorsement of the Ron Paul Revolution as some kooky Stern Show stunt. Howard doesn't talk out of his ass - he has guests on his show for that.
And, really, any chance I get to keep Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf's memory alive is one I have to take. -
I saw Ron Paul in the first Republican debate and decided to co-found Kansas University's Students for Ron Paul. We have done much to get his name and message out there. One of the things we have done is paint a garage "Ron Paul."
