An Iraqi soldier, accompanying American troops on a standard patrol, shot and killed two American troops and wounded three others when US troops became unnecessarily rough with a pregnant Iraqi woman. After warning the US troops to stop, they refused, at which point the Iraqi soldier opened fire. Justified? Thoughts?

News like this makes me so sad. I hate that American soldiers are overseas and in harms way...and I hate even more hearing that some of them are not conducting themselves in ways that bring honor to our country. Who knows which side of this story is true, as the two men most directly involved are dead, and any investigation will likely turn in to a he said/she said that might cause more harm than good.

If the situation were reversed and it was Iraqi soldiers beating a pregnant American woman, wouldn't the accompanying American soldiers act in a similar way?
I wish warning shots would have been sufficient. My guess is that would have only been enough to get himself killed, without changing the Americans behavior. However, will this incident change anything? Probably not, it is, after all, war.-

Sad. I'd agree, if Iraqi soldiers were here doing the same, you could be sure I'd resist in every way. So, why not them?
You know, George Bush has just done more for the Iraqi people then he could ever know. George Bush's rule of Iraq is probably worse than Sadam's.
The leader can't take responsibility for his own ineptness, stupidity and ignorance of the world and life, he's got to blame it on the Muslim religion, on "terrorism", on "insurgence", on anything but himself. Well, he does have Chenney he could blame.
How about Bushenney, you move there?? You guys could be real hands one.
Here's what it's really all about:

the original title to this is deceiving, it made it seem like there was no justification for the heroism
iraqs have already had to deal with abuses by our administration and the mishandling of the military, and the use of blackwater (with their legal immunities) it isnt hard to see the iraqs justification in this
weve killed off millions of their people over the past two decades, and mishandled everything
if a force invaded america, abused and bombed pretty much everything in my homeland, forced me to join their newly created army (if i already wasn't an "insurgent"), and then told me i had to watch while they abused a pregnant woman because they could do what they want, i wouldve done the same thing
get the military, disassemble them, and tell them were sorry we sent them over there and lets hope theres no need ever for a military again, cause we havent had need in a long time -
sad but true!!

Justified? Absolutely not.
What does "unnecessarily rough" actually mean? We have heard the version from the killer's family and an unidentified Iraqi witness, yet there is not one American version of what happened in the linked story.
I am also very skeptical when a writer uses the term "Independent sources" when writing that "Independent sources" have since told IPS that Kaissar was captured by a special joint Iraqi-U.S. force, and he is now being held and "tortured" at the al-Ghizlany military camp in Mosul.
The linked article is one sided and lacks the American version of the events. We need to hear both sides to get a fair accounting.
In fact, click on the below link and look at all these articles written by this writer and you can see the anti-American sentiment in all his articles.

There are so many atrocities that happen in war, on both sides. The U.S. military as well as Iraqi soldiers should be held responsible when committing atrocities. None are justified. -
"unnecessarily rough"
how bout 151,000 iraqs dead, and thats only the ones accounted for in this war, and not including afganis or pakastanis
whatta we got, 4,000?
all of them, unnecessary
