  • That was absolutly wonderful to see! It felt like christmas with Ganesh as santa clause, only much more personal. I didn't know if people where taking the diety literally or what Deepak Chopra talks about, Ganesh being a state of mind; remover of obstacles and enabler of endeavors... just the embodyment of good traits like wisdom and being a good listener. Thanks... I really enjoyed, good music!
  • The story that Shenaz was talking about in comic form
  • I love this pod! The retelling of the story -- with the crowd gathered -- is terrific.

  • I really like this pod because it gives an insight into this cultural event that I had heard about, but never really seen. Great visuals, and I think it is presented in a way that the holiday seems to have the same kinds of enthusiasm and ritual that are familiar to Christian and Jewish cultures. I also liked how they showed the problems with people using Ganeshes for the event that were not environmentally friendly and some of the concerns about that. Great pod.

  • How fun! It was great to learn about the history of Lord Ganesh while seeing its modern day importance played out in the background. The music, images and editing all added to the excited festival spirit, and I wish I could be there in person, but I thanks to the pod, I almost feel like I was! It was great to see the festival in both the public and family spheres, and how important it is in both. Thanks too for the insight into the environmental impacts of the festival. It again highlights how an ancient festival is being lived by modern-day individuals dealing with global concerns.

  • That's amazing. I had no idea they set it free in the oceans. Good point about many of the larger idols not using environmentally friendly materials.

  • I really enjoyed the fact that we were able to experience the event with the family. The orientation at the beginning of the pod I'm sure was helpful for people who don't know about the festival or the story. However, for people who already know Ganapathi's story, it was told in an entertaining way with good visuals. Nice job!

  • It was such a warm way to show the celebration. Instead of some wide overlook, just following a single family made the culture that much more personal. You could see the families joy. Thanks for posting. I'd love to see more.

  • I used to practice Baharat Natyam...and we would do devotional dances to Ganapathi. I was never sure why it was so important..I knew some of the story..

But the movement of this piece paints a more accurate picture...I love it!

  • Ganesh has always been special to us, even though we are not Hindu. Ganesh is the God of overcoming obstacles, (according to my understanding), and his presence helps remind us that we can get overcome challenges...
  • I think this pod is phenomenal, we get to see this from a very personal point. The fact that it is such a bonding experience for the families and the country itself, all as one is so inspirational.
