OOOps, 'Nothing to see here, move along!' Will we? VotersUnite.org's John Gideon calls our attention to this snippet, from this recent story at NH's SeaCoastOnline [emphasis ours]:
So many Democrats turned out in Stratham that Town Clerk Shirley Daley said she had to photocopy 87 ballots. Hartson said she began printing extra Democratic ballots at 6 p.m. when they began running low. Because of a glitch in the machines, clerks there had to hand count all of the extra ballots.
Gideon follows up by asking: "They had to hand-count all of the extra ballots. What about the ballots that had already been run on the machines (note the plural)? How many other machines across the state had the same 'glitch'?"
We tried to contact Town Clerk Daley on Friday, in order to find out, what came of the ballots counted before the problem was discovered, but their offices close at 12noon on Fridays.
As to further such incidents across the state, it seems there were far more than anyone has so far reported. We will have another article shortly, concerning such reports of problems on Diebold voting machine across the state during last week's Primary Election. 80% of New Hampshire votes were counted on such machines. To date, none of those ballots have been counted, verified or audited by any human being to our knowledge.

As to the last sentence here: That is UNACCEPTABLE In a Democracy. And I have written to my state legislature and governor as well as my local elections committee in the past about these machines. How do we get rid of them?

Mainstream media should be chasing this story instead of spinning (distorting) reasons for the discrepancy. Investigative journalism in mainstream media must be a thing of the past. Its no wonder people no longer trust the news. Why are we supporting their sponsors? Someone posted the company sponsors of Fox News; I no longer use Dawn Detergent. Dawn was one of their sponsors. Dawn is my favorite, but I'm back with Palmolive. Several years ago I called Dawn and told them how good it would be if they had a degreaser without the suds associated with their dish detergent. Several months later they came out with a product called Disolve. I'll miss it, It cuts right through grease. I guess I'll be using more elbow grease in the future and scrubbing a little harder. As I find out sponsors of these spinners, I am spending my dollars somewhere else. It's worth it to me, to be able to hold someone accountable.

Most people do not understand that the Diebold machine is not just a small issue of a few machines having a few glitches and possibly eating a few votes. And why should they? The media doesn't focus on this story at all, because the truth would hurt the owners of the corporations who own the media.
The fact is, the Diebold corporation is insurance for the people who REALLY run this country to make sure we don't end up with a President who won't bend to their will. Easily manipulated machines that leave no paper trail...you can't make undermining democracy any simpler than that! I'm not saying they alter the results of EVERY election, but it's obvious that if it looks like someone who threatens the powerful is going to win, they've just got to insert some malicious software into a few machines and their guy will come out on top.
And they can be sure nobody is going to revolt, because they've got Big Media in their pockets as well, and the story won't get covered. It's an absolutely flawless system, and it's the reason we don't live in a democracy anymore but a fascist dictatorship in which the people don't even know who the dictators are! -
Diebold, Halliburton, Black Water, they are all suspect. The outsourcing of our voting process, who would have thought mainstream media would have sat idly by and let hackable machines be purchased throughout the country, knowing they did not provide verifiable results. No Accountability! Halliburton has gotten millions of our tax dollars, which are unaccounted for. They have gotten no bid contracts after admitting they could not account for all the money they had gotten so far? No accountability! Black Water, the list is too long and they are going to be used in the United States as a private police force. They are going to be able to purchase their great surveillance equipment with the money they have made in Iraq. There goes our freedom! No Accountability!
So many questions, with so few answers? Things are done in plain sight, mainstream media spins it as; oh well, 'Nothing to see here, move along, and we do?' We go back to Britney or Paris, important people in our daily life? Too many people can?t handle the truth and they know it, so they turn off real facts and accept spin (distorted facts), it's easier than the truth. Back to American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.
By the time they wake from their slumber, or decide to care, it will be too late. Many of the people I talk to believe what mainstream media says and repeat it back to me as though it's fact, not spin? I have been reading for too long to fall for the spin. The Internet is our last refuge and they are working on changing that. SAD! -

It has been said that all of the candidates know it would be devastating for America to find out our elections were being manipulated. I have one question -- IF NOT NOW, WHEN? If the fact that our elections can be manipulated is too devastating for the country, our representatives should be doing everything to demand transparency into the future. We should not ignore facts due to fear.
Not knowing doesn't change the facts. Questions are how we find out facts. As long as questions go unanswered, it?s SPINNING ? DISTORTING FACTS. We as Americas? need to find a way to get accountability back. Mainstream media is allowing facts and spin (distorted facts) to be presented as equal with no follow-up, leading ordinary Americans to believe they are equal. If mainstream media did what they should be doing, they would be investigating spin, not perpetuating it! The sponsors may be the answer ? the power of the purse. We, American consumers have the power of the purse and the internet as the vehicle to get it going. .
