Missouri House Bill 1055 could mean big changes for abortion services in Missouri and could jeopardize the future of Planned Parenthood across the state. The bill was signed into law in May 2007, but a federal judge has issued an injunction and is currently reviewing the bill. All sides of the abortion debate are on hold, waiting to see what will happen next. Produced by Seth Ashley and reported by Jason Rosenbaum

  • Wow, great doc!
You didn't seem to have any bias in your reporting either.
I am a former resident of Missouri. I was born in Carthage in 1963 and 4 years later, in 1967, the supreme court rule in the favor of the right's of women to make such medical decisions.
It has not been that long that "Roe Vs Wade" was passed. But it has been a yearly fight to keep this freedom to make such difficult medical choices.
If a women chooses not to have this type of medical procedure than that is her choice. I have no right to tell her she doesn't have a right take her pregnancy to full term.
As well, no women or man should have any type of power to restrain me from making a choice to terminate my pregnancy.
So, until I have the right/power to tell someone else they can't have a child because they are not smart enough, wealthy enough, or healthy enough, to raise a child. No human being has the right to take my right, as an equally human being, to choose to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.
It is sad to hear that Missouri has turn it's back to women's rights.

  • I cannot believe they would try to use the excuse of making a room larger, different carpet and more beds just to stop women from having a choice to keep a child or not.
Just knowing that there is something like that makes me so angry.
    Nothing will change at all.
    Nothing.
If anything, having more abortion clinics is putting children at a lesser risk of danger by growing up in a hazard enviorment or poverty stricken family.

By the way, I loved the view point.
