They've got a (slightly out of date (next show, 11/10/07 haha!)) myspace page! If I am in SF by the time I start having kids, that seems like something I'd enjoy.

to each his/her own. kinda ridicules, but hey, whatever makes one happy.

This is like Gymboree for the 21st century. Cool look into a unique subculture within a new generation of parents. Great interviews with some of the parents/club-goers. I especially like the conflict of trying to be a good, responsible parent while preserving one's youth. It might have been nice to get some interviews with parents that might have opposing opinions about the club to heighten the conflict a little more.

This is exactly what Ive been looking for. Unfortunately I live in Central Fl. where 95% of the parents are khakis wearing suburban moms. Not that theres anything wrong with that, its just not the kind of mom I am. It would be refreshing to see more places like this pop up all over the US.

I am not by any means against alcohol. In fact I think it's great, but it seems like drinking in the middle of the day and babies is a dubious combination. I suppose that almost anything can be healthy in moderation, but our society has not shown discretion to be one of its strengths.
-
I was there, and there was hardly any alcohol being consumed. Everyone was way too busy watching their kids. So I can appreciate the concern about drinking during the day, but I can assure you, it was not a problem at all. I think I had half a beer, and we had taken public transit to and from the venue.

I guess just like anything else, it comes down to personal responsibility.

I would love to find something like this in the DC area! As a parent of a little one, I sorely miss the club scene. I know my little family would enjoy frequenting a kid & adult friendly club. Come to the East Coast...please!
-
what a baddass piece. whoever found this story must be pretty hardcore...
-
I wish we had one of these in FL myself. It's hard to find parents who have the same interests as i have. My husband is always away at band practice and work, leaving me to wonder "what will i do with my son today?". It would be nice to meet responsible parents who still embody the scene! There's not a place around here to do so. Everyone has either conformed too much or is still too crazy to be comfortable around... lol that or they just don't have a little one yet.
-
Do they offer rides home for parents who have been drinking? I mean I don't think it's awful, but, are we showing kids that the only way to have fun is with drinking? to each his own....
I don't knwo I remember my Dad taking me to a bar, and well, it was fun but, it wasn't really right...-

i dont think that if you want to go out and party with your kids you should be drinking.there are more ways than drinking to have fun.

This took place in San Francisco and I can say 90% of the parents took public transport. The other 10% Drank a token beer. 100% of them were not even close to being intoxicated. I know because of producing this pod I was at the venue until to the bitter end. Which I loosely recall was was 4 pm.
